Teachers Service Commission (TSC) pays teachers under various grades among them those in C1 monthly income as well as other additional allowances which include house allowance.
Understanding the house allowances amounts as part of the teacher compensation enables a teacher to plan for their finances better.
Note that teachers classified as C1 are diploma holders .
Some of the Grade C1 teachers under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) scale include Secondary Teacher III, Lecturer III,Primary Teacher I and also Primary Teacher II

As a result, the Commission has categorized different working areas into clusters bringing variation in the allowance paid under each cluster.

That teachers who work in Nairobi City get a monthly house allowance of sh. 10,000.

Under cluster 2 areas, listed for TSC teachers in areas including Mombasa and Kisumu, teachers get an C1 house allowance of sh. 7,500.
Under cluster 3, for the teachers in other former municipalities they get sh. 5,800.
Under cluster 4 for those covering all other areas TSC pays house allowance of sh. 5,000 per month.
