Teachers Service Commission (TSC) ensures staff balancing in schools through various ways among them effecting teacher transfer from one institution to another.
Normally, the commission transfers a teacher either same level grade as well as higher position grade .
In addition, the teacher transfers could be to a school within the same county,a school in sub-county or otherwise.
Normally , teacher transfers are initiated by the TSC or could be the school head or at some point the individual teacher.
Unlike the past, currently teacher transfers are requested online meaning no manual document will be accepted by the commission.
The commission may decide to transfer a teacher in view of the broader needs of the teaching service even without considering of on whether transfer was requested by the teacher or not.
Before q transfer is given, the committee normally issued a teacher with at least three (3) months notice of transfer.
According to TSC , a teacher on permanent and pensionable terms who has served in one school for a period of more than 3 years years period is legible to apply for transfer.
Note that there are some clear circumstances under which a teacher can be transferred earlier than 3 years of years of service.

TSC approves transfer for a teachers after being certified by a registered medical practitioner.
Existence of severe family related problems.
The commission may effect transfer under prone and complicated matter without strict limit on number of years.
Urgent needs of the broader teaching service.
Under this circumstance which may be initiated by the teacher or the commission itself,TSC approves the transfer without considering duration of service.

Transfer based on circumstances .
Under circumstances that may be considered by the employer, the commission can effect transfer immediately.
Before a teachers get transfer to another school , the school head must issue a RELEASE LETTER and the commission also has to release TRANSFER FORM to make the process official.
The head of the institution has powers to object against the transfer to the TSC just incase the transfer has untold consequences for the institution.
