Good News to Stagnated Teachers who did not Get Promotions

It is a relief to stagnated teachers who were left out during the recently released promotions after Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET)  has taken another major step to ensure fairness which they claim was not given priority.

According to KUPPET,the government through the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has no option but to streamline issues of teacher promotion and ensure that the teachers who are ripe for promotion are promoted.

The Secretary General KUPPET , Akello Misori , came out clear on Tuesday and indicated  that should TSC not consider their demands, they will call for a nationwide strike for teachers .

Akello indicated that the strike is meant to push the TSC to streamline teachers’ promotion in the country Incase they fail to address union demands.

The KUPPET secretary also said that there are several  teachers that have stagnated in one job group for many years  who were left out for promotions and the TSC must also be clear on this.

He further expressed the current demoralization state of  teachers who have stagnated in one job group for years and now missed the promotions.

According Misori  names of some of the teachers who were recently promoted by TSC  have either died or retired as there is a big slot of teachers who are qualified for promotion have not been considered.
