The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has promised to start a new chapter with the primary school teachers who scored C plain general grade in their KCSE examinations certificates.
According to the commission, teachers who had a C plain and had advanced their studies to a Degree in Education will get their deployment letters to Junior schools.
Earlier this term, TSC announced a total of 6000 deployment slots for primary school teachers who had degree in Education to submit their application before 18th March ,2024.
For those who met the qualifications and had submitted their applications, they will get chance to be deployed to junior school as from May, 2024.
A part from their career progress, deployed teachers will get an opportunity to earn advanced salaries as well.
Releasing the deployment slots, TSC announced that the teachers to be deployed will help to address teacher shortage that is currently facing junior school in the country since their establishment in 2023.

The government has also hinted that as the financial budget 2024/2025 will be released in July 2024, money has been set a side to recruit a total of 46,000 teachers in junior school.
According to member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro in charge of the parliamentary budget, in this year, TSC will get funds to absorb a total of 26,000 teacher interns into permanent and pensionable terms.
In addition, the lawmaker reveal that another additional 20,000 fresh intern teachers will get absorbed to the new system.
