According to the commission , for one to become.a teacher , the individuals must have at least a D+ in Mathematics and a C minus in English .

In addition, this teacher must have scored a minimum general grade of C plain at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

As a result, TSC is has proposed to scrap the Primary Teachers Certificate Training Course, which is commonly known as ( P1 certificate) .

However ,the plan proposal has elicited several reactions from stakeholders with TSC indicating  that the ongoing review of the laws  governing the teaching profession are put in place.

TSC therefore  proposes for a new implementation implementation that will only allow entry qualification for teachers training, to begin at the diploma level.
