Eligibility and Simple Criteria, Earning from your Facebook Account

Facebook a noble digital platform that is owned by Meta announced that it will start enabling those with accounts to start earning from their content from June 2024.

According to green listing, our country qualifies for monetisation.

However, many questions on have been raised on how to monetize content on individual account.

To understand this, Meta has listed some policies, highlighting on the criteria that one has to follow to have their page monetized.

Requirements to monetize your page
In reference to the policy document, here are the requirements;
  • It is a expected that  one must have at least 500 followers for at least 30 consecutive days as explained in the policy document.
  • Inorder for a Facebook profile or acc account to be monetized t, it must be from an eligible country for instance  Kenya  and others listed.
  • Your page  must be public either through through Facebook pages through profiles or groups pages,
  • Your according must also follow moral standards like avoidance of hate speech as well as lack of authenticity.
  • One must follow  monetisation policies which are put in place  within their business partners programme.

Category of Facebook content prohibited from earning 

Meta has also set some monetisation policies which discourages  certain content types from people earning from it.

These include;

  • Static videos, these includes content which has one static image and little to no motion .such content is not eligible for monetisation.

  • content posted for creating engagement,like asking questions to the audience and expecting responses.
  • Images that gave slideshows without motion alongside looped videos.Tgeze content includes GIFs and content of varying lengths.
  • Fake or misleading medical information will also not be monetized.
