The teachers who receive their salary from Teachers Service Commission (TSC ) may decide to modify individual or change pay point for a number of reasons.

For instance, several teachers  change their pay points so as qualify to obtain credit from financial organizations that requires that one must  first open salary accounts with them for consideration.

Teachers may also wish to change their pay points so as to get connected to banks and Saccos with extensive ATM networks whose debit cards are accepted at supermarkets, hotels, gas stations, hardware stores among others.

Incase you have plans to chance your pay point, it is important to keep your old account active. It should be active until your salary transfers are done at least once to the new account.

Note that depending on the time when you are making a request for change of pay point, sometimes the request may delay to get to the commission before changes are made into new account for the upcoming payroll.

As a result, your monthly earning  will be posted to the account you just closed and the money  is later returned to TSC by the bank or Sacco. Such a situation may highly affect you as a teacher financially.

The money gets reversed  to TSC since all financial institutions are prohibited from depositing funds into closed accounts thus it is a mandatory  requirement that unused funds are sent back to the sender.

For one to get the reversed  money from tsc, your Sacco or bank will find this unapplied money when performing their reconciliation did not effect.

TSC then will write a letter to the teachers  determining reason for closure  or change of account causing salary  return, and then  asks the teacher to provide current pay point information.

Such process becomes hectic and time consuming this it is important that when you are changing your pay point, let your old account remain active.
