Secondary Teacher II (SNE) are teachers on T-Scale 8  employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and receives monthly basic salary that is determined by their salary point.

These teachers are categorized into six salary points as their basic salary ranges from ksh.44,412 to ksh.56,514

In addition , these officers  are entitled to a C3 allowance grade,thus enhancing their overall compensation package at the end of the month.

For the TSC  Secondary Teacher II (SNE) on T-Scale 8 , their salary vavaries based on the salary point, starting at 44,412 Kenyan Shillings for point 1 and increasing to 56,514 Kenyan Shillings for point 6.

Alongside their salary, these educators also receive a C3 allowance grade, further augmenting their total compensation.

The basic salary for Secondary Teacher II (SNE) on T-Scale 8 ranges from ksh. 44,412 to 56,514 monthly.

House Allowance determined for SNE teachers

The monthly House Allowance for SNE teachers under T-Scale 8 varies based on the teacher’s geographical location or the duty station.

Under this level, there are  four clusters determining the specific allowance.

These include  Cluster 1 (covering Nairobi City), whose house allowance is Ksh 28,000.

Those teachers in Cluster 4 ( placed under other municipal Areas), get Ksh 14,055 per month.

Other additional allowances  SNE teachers are eligible 

Normally, the SNE teachers on T-Scale 8 are eligible for several allowances, namely ;

  • Hardship Allowance  of Ksh 12,300
  • Monthly commuter Allowance of Ksh 6,000
  • SNE Annual Leave Allowance of Ksh 6,000
  • Monthly Disability Guide Allowance of Ksh 20,000

Inorder for one to qualify for appointment, the teacher must have served as Secondary School Teacher II under  T-Scale 7 for a minimum of three (3) years.

The teacher must ask be a holder of a  Bachelor’s Degree in Education or its equivalent with a Certificate/Diploma  which must be in Special Needs Education

In addition, the teacher must have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process as well as having  successfully undertaken the relevant (TPD) modules.

One must also be in possession of a valid Teaching Certificate and also certify requirements of chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
