TSC to Start Scrutiny of Teachers’ Documents After Stage One Ends

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is expected to embark on serious scrutiny of the P1 teachers’ documents for deployment whose deadline for submission is slated on 18th March, 2024.

TSC portal was opened fo P1 teachers who meet TSC declared threshold to submit applications for consideration to be deployed to junior schools where there is currently a serious teacher deficit.

A total of 6, 000 deployment slots were announced  for currently serving primary school employment  under permanent terms by TSC and with  degree in secondary option to upload their application in TSC portal.

Currently there are two classes under junior schools which include Grade 7 and  8  requires teacher graduates who are currently not enough.

TSC has plans reveal that the teachers that will get a chance for deployment will get to their new centres earlier next time.

Before grade 8 learners move to grade 9 in 2024,the teachers service  commission is planning to recruit an additional of 20,000 intern teachers to help address the expected teacher shortage.

The current  advertised 6000 slots will mark the third batch of qualified PTE teachers to be deployed to teach in junior school starting earlier next term.

After TSC goes through the teachers documents at the headquarters, selected teachers will be shortlisted for documents  verification by their Sub-County Directors and subsequent posting to schools.

Serious scrutiny of the submitted teachers’ documents at the headquarters will help ensure that it is only qualified teachers with valid documents get a chance for Posting to junior schools.

Junior schools teacher deficit still is a challenge that TSC is currently trying to address 99,045 teachers are currently needed against the current number of teachers which stands at 56,928 .

B5 teachers as well as C1 teachers should take advantage of the announced slots which will not only impact on their pay increment but also contribute to their career growth.
