All the teachers employed under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will be expected to submit clear evidence of their Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) ratings.
TSC activated TPAD at the beginning of term one 2024, that enables all teachers to create accounts and continue with the termly self-appraisal process.
The teachers’ employer has diligently worked on enhancing its major servers to facilitate easier and effective mass uploading of teacher resources.
As a result , the commission will soon be obliged to seek teachers provide evidence for each termly appraisal,which will include uploaded of evidence on available ;
- Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans
- Learners and lessons attendance Registers
- Individual Lesson Notes
- The individual Progress Records
- The Learners’ checked Work,
These documents must have an approval by head teachers and their deputies if the respective institutions.
Teachers need for evidence submission is a key requirement in the TPAD calendar, but most teachers have historically assumed this process.
The latest indicators suggest a new shift, that has revealed that the Commission plans to closely monitor teacher performance within the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
A total of 36,505 teachers who were listed successful to different grades, will assume roles upon receiving promotion letters.
TSC further issued a directive to all school heads to start assigning rights to their deputies to effectively appraise teachers on matters tpad
Teacher TPAD, being an open appraisal system of teacher appraisal empowers teachers in primary and secondary schools enabling them to participate in evaluating their own performance and their professional development.
Tpad appraisal helps to empower teachers to restore the esteemed status of the teaching profession,hence rebuilding public confidence and support for them.
Note that TPAD is use by TSC as a key determinant for teacher promotions, thus need for teachers to download and present evidence of TPAD compliance while conducting promotion interviews.
According to the commission, those teachers who fail to adhere to the appraisal and lesson observation requirements as directed risk disciplinary action.
