Several teachers more especially the ( p1 teachers) are likely to benefit double from the 2024 Teachers Service Commission (TSC) promotions program.
Details show that some of the primary school teachers who attended December 2023 interviews and were successful are likely to enjoy from another second chance of promotions where TSC has advertised 6,000 deployment slots.
P1 teachers who have degrees and had their names successfully listed the recently released 36,505 promotions slots list will also be factored in the deployment to junior school.
Note that while advertising the deployment slots, TSC indicated that it is only serving primary school teachers with degree in secondary option are legible to apply for deployment by 18th March 2024.
TSC advertised a third phase of promotions of the PTE teachers qualified for posting them to serve in junior secondary school section starting early second term,2024.
TSC further requires that the applicants have a minimum of a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or it’s equivalent) and on top of this , be having a minimum of C+ in two teaching subjects.

Those teachers who did the old system of education but have upgraded must have two (2) principles and one (1) subsidiary pass at A Level.
Every teacher is also expected to have completed at least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects also not currently serving an interdiction or undergoing a disciplinary process.
TSC also clarified that teachers with a minimum of C plain at KCSE (or its equivalent) who have taken an initiative of undertaking a Diploma in Education and acquired a Bachelor Degree in Education qualify.
Teachers with Bachelor of Education (Primary Option) holders are not eligible but only those with degree certificate must be Bachelor of Education are legible.
