Funds for implementation of salary increment for teachers have been budgeted for inorder for Teachers Service Commission ( TSC ) to implement second phase of payrise from July 2024.
Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro,the Chairman of Budget and Appropriations Parliamentary Committee announced the allocation to TSC during the 2024 – 2025 budget appropriations.
Under the allocation to the Education ministry , TSC got higher budget.
The teachers employer was allocated sh 369.94 billion, in which part of the funds will be used to implement the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) for teachers.
The commission signed a CBA agreement with Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) and Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KUSNET) last year August, 2023.
The agreement indicated that teachers salary increment for teachers was to be implemented in two phases with the first phase implemented from, 2023 start of July
Salary Increment for the first phase was scheduled to run from 1st July 2023 to 30th June 2024.

The second second phase which is the final phase will run from 1st July 2024 to end of June (30th June 2025).
The implementation of the second phase from 1st July 2024 will favor teachers who were in service as at 1st July, 2023.
House allowances among other TSC teacher earnings will be factored during this salary increment.
