The Teachers service commission (TSC) has ordered the Primary School (P1) teachers who managed to score a minimum of C plain and above at KCSE examination to apply for advertised deployment Slots announced in Junior Secondary.
Note: Primary school teachers who have minimum C plain in KCSE but have done a Bachelor of Education (Primary Option) do not qualify as per to the guidelines from the commission.
TSC requires teacher who have a minimum of a Diploma in Education and also have a minimum of C+ at KCSE .In addition to this ,these teachers must have another C+ plus in two teaching subjects which are being offered in the school curriculum are legible to apply .
TSC further requires that teachers are required to have done a relevant Bachelor of Education Course.
Equally they must have at least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects.
TSC announced 6000 deployment slots for primary school teachers who qualify to post them to serve in junior secondary school section starting may, next term.
As provided in the Advertisement teachers interested and qualified are expected to apply for the deployment by 18th March.
These teachers are also to be free from serving an interdiction or undergoing any TSC disciplinary process.
Teacher candidates are expected to produce original and copy of the degree or diploma certificate and also give original and copies of the academic transcripts during the verification process.
Teacher’s original and copy of the KCSE certificate ,clear copies of the current payslip and also declaration letter by the headteacher showing evidence that the teacher is servicing actively in the school will be required too.
Teachers with special needs will be required to present original and copy of SNE qualification documents too.
TSC need to consider promoting the teachers who specialized in primary option degrees in any sliming promotion. These teachers are frustrated
