Listed Teachers to Start Warming Up for New Roles Starting Term 2

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has established another moment of joy to P1 teachers who furthered their studies after advertising 6,000 deployment slots for them to take new roles in Junior Secondary.

Teachers who have relevant degree in secondary option and currently serving as primary school teachers should apply by 18th March 2024.

These teachers who have started submitting applications should warm up to take new roles as teachers in junior secondary schools starting May 2024,  early next term.

The commission indicated that those making applications Should have a minimum of a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE and  C+ in two teaching subjects.

The teachers are also expected to have covered at least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects.

Primary school teachers who have a minimum of C plain and are Diploma holders  in Education together with a Bachelor Degree in Education qualify for deployment .

Also those with an equivalent to a C plain should and have done a relevant degree in education can apply.

The commission deployed the first cohorts of P1 teachers to Junior schools.

Before their deployment,these teachers had there documents and late were issued with deployment posting letters to junior secondary.

To speed  the process of change of payment for deployed teachers , Dr Macharia gave directs that all  Sub County Directors and Primary Head teachers should move with speed to release and receive the teachers.

Upon successful deployment, ordered Heads of Institution releasing the teachers should immediately exit the teacher  through the submission of Exit Reports .
The report is meant to enable the receiving Head of Institution to submit the Entry Report earlier as well.

School heads are expected to do all the process online through  Entry/Exit Reports Module .

This is because the Commission does not recognize  nor process hard copy casualties.
