Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is expected to deploy the third batch of successful PTE teachers to C2 , who will be teaching in junior school starting May,2024 and get awarded new salary scales.
These teachers will be posted to schools immediately after documents verification and scrutiny is done by their their TSC Sub-County Directors.
The teachers employer is also expected to scrutinize the teachers’ documents at the teachers headquarters ,a plan which is expected to ensure that only those teachers qualified teachers get posted with valid documents.
TSC is trying all means to address junior secondary schools teacher shortage experienced in most.
Details from the commission indicate that schools have a deficit of 99,045 teachers against the current number of 56,928 who have so far been employed.
To address the shortage, the commission has further opened 6,000 deployment slots for serving primary school teachers who are degree holders in secondary option to apply online by 18th March 2024 for consideration.
The teachers who will be employed will be posted serve in junior secondary school section starting early next term.
There is a lot of pressure that the commission is currently addressing to deploy more teachers to junior secondary as a means to address serious teacher shortage currently experienced.
Several teachers who got the first and second deployment to junior secondary schools are primary school teachers in job group C1. Others also are those are teachers in job group C3 and C4.
Here is the TSC Salary for a deployed C2 teacher
Basic salary monthly 34,955
House allowance monthly (other areas) 7,500
Hardship monthly 10,900
Commuter monthly 5,000
Leave (only paid once in January) 6,000
The teachers who will be deployed with degree certificates will be placed at job group C2 in which they will serve for a period of three years before being moved automatically to job group C3.
Sub County Directors will ensure that the successful teachers are deployed to their current stations.
They should be considered to be deployed to schools close to their current stations.
All interested teachers with Special Need Education (SNE) qualification are aso expected to be posted to Special junior secondary schools
