All schools are expected to close on Thursday (next week) 29th, February 2023 for the start of term one halfterm for both primary and secondary school learners.
The government through the Ministry of Education MoE released 2024 school calendar for all teacher training institutions , the pre-primary ,primary, and secondary schools.
Term one for 2024 primary and secondary school calendar is expected to cover 13 weeks of instruction.
The term started on January 8, 2024 will come to an end on April 5, 2024, marking the completion of first semester.
The learners in all primary and secondary schools will close for a three-day halfterm break from February 29 and resume on March 3rd , 2023.
After spending another few weeks in school, there will be a three-week vacation from April 8 to 26th , 2024.
2024 school calender
From the previous scenario, it is illegal for schools who release their learners earlier for halfterm before date set by the ministry.
The year 2024 has marked the return of the normal school calendar after the country education system was disrupted by Covid 19 pandemic.
