Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has has listed key requirements for deposit of P1 teachers to JSS under the newly declared 6,000 deployment slots .
In the recent TSC advertisement , teachers who are serving primary school teachers with degree in secondary option will be expected to apply by 18th March 2024.

The teachers employer wants to promote the PTE teachers by posting them to serve in junior secondary school ,domiciled in primary section early next term.
As per to the advertisement, those interested and qualified are to apply for the deployment by 18th March.
TSC Primary School teachers wishing to be deployed to JSS are those who are qualified to teach in secondary schools.
For deployment to JSS, these teachers must meet the following the P1 requirements:
i) Be in possession for an active registration as a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
ii) To be currently serving as an employed as a primary school teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
iii)Be at all costs not serving an interdiction or undergoing a disciplinary process.
iv) Be in possession of a minimum of a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or it’s equivalent)
Also have scored a C+ plus in two teaching subjects currently being offered in the school curriculum which are either under 8-4-4 or CBC system.
OR
Be in possession of two (2) principles and one (1) subsidiary pass at “A” Level.
Must have covered at least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects.
Teacher trainees with a minimum of C (plain) at KCSE (or its equivalent) who have already undertaken a Diploma in Education together with a Bachelor Degree in Education qualify for the deployment
v) Those in possession of degree certificate should ensure that they have Bachelor of Education.
Those trained in Bachelor of Education (Primary Option) holders are not eligible for deployment.
Documents to be availed during verification exercise:
i) Present an original and copy of the degree/diploma certificate;

ii) present your original and copies of the academic transcripts;
iii) present your original and copy of SNE qualification (where applicable);
iv) present your original and copy of the KCSE certificate (or its equivalent);
v) present your copy of the current payslip;
vi) present your declaration for from the Head of Institution that the teacher is currently serving in the school showing that you are neither serving an interdiction nor undergoing a disciplinary process.
