KUCCPS Lists 2024 Courses for KCSE Grade E Students

Kuccps  has invited applications from students who scored Grade E in their 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to apply for courses through its portal.

The placement service has given a chance to these learners to pursue their career of choice by starting with artisan or the level 4 programmes and later  proceed to certificate courses.

According  to the announcement, the various courses will be offered through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal .

The placement portal has announced that these students students will qualify for government sponsorship.

According to Kuccps, all those students who sat for KCSE examination between 2000 to 2022 and scored a mean grade of D- and E also are qualified for the artisan courses.

Clarification from the placement service indicate that the courses are divided into 14 programmes which are;
  • Business courses,
  • Building and Construction courses
  • Engineering and Technology courses
  • Food Science courses
  • Social Sciences courses
  • Information Technology courses
  • Hospitality courses
  • Hotel and Tourism courses
  • Clothing courses
  • Fashion and Textile courses.

The other courses offered with this grade include;

  • Agricultural Sciences courses
  • Natural Sciences courses
  • Technical Sciences courses
  • Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy courses
  •  Library and Information Science courses.

Under Business category 

The students Wishing to study under this program can apply for

  • Storekeeping courses
  • Accounting Technician courses
  • Secretarial positions courses

Equally, students can  be able to also apply for Office Administration and Human Resource Management.

All the above courses fall under the business category.

Building and Construction courses

These programme is available for students who have a passion for masonry and construction in general.

Students can apply for artisan courses under this category which include;

Building Technology course

Construction Technology course

Masonry course

Building Artisan Level 4 course

 General Fitting course

Food Science Courses 

According to Kuccps,the students who want to work in the hospitality industry can apply  for these courses under this program.

Some of the courses that can be done under this category include;

  • Food Beverage Production and Services (under Production or Sales options)
  • Artisan Craft in Food and Beverage courses
  • Culinary Arts
  •  Food Processing Technology.

Social Sciences courses 

Under this category , kuccps has listed only two courses in this category which are Artisan course  in Social Work and Artisan in Social Work – Level 4.

Information Technology courses

These are IT enthusiasts courses that can be pursued at different courses in this category .

The courses include

  •  ICT courses
  • Artisan Level 4
  • NVCET in IT
  •  ICT Technician Level 4.

Hospitality and Tourism Courses 

For students who scored grade Grade D- and E , they  can pursue these courses;

  • tour Guiding and Operations (Level 4)
  • Artisan in Catering and Accommodation

Agricultural Sciences courses

Kuccps has listed a number of programmes under these area which include;

  • Agribusiness
  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture Nursery Management
  • Agricultural Mechanics
  • Entrepreneurial Agriculture.

Others courses under this area include;

  • Agriculture Extension and Rural Sociology Level 4
  • NVCET in Modern Methods of Agriculture.

Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy Courses

It is one of the most popular program which students are seeking to join artisan courses.

According to Kuccps, list of artisan courses in this category include;

  • Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

Successful students upon completion,can establish salons or beauty shops.

They can also seek employment in the beauty and cosmetics industry
