Kelvin Kiptum dies, Kenya ‘s world record marathon holder was on Sunday night involved in a greasy road accident which resulted to his death.
Following his demise, the world has now been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of the reigning world marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum and his Rwandese coach Garvis Hakizimana.
Police reports indicate that the tragic road crash happened at around 11pm at Kaptagat area along Elgeyo Marakwet-Ravine road .
Kelvin Kiptum and Hakizimana dies on the spot due to the impact of the self-involved accident.

Kelvin Kiptum is known to have risen to prominence in the world of athletics after registering the fastest marathon debut in Valencia in 2022.
24-year-old star Kiptum continued to rise in 2023 when he conquered the London Marathon .
He hit record of 2:01:25 in April during the marathon.
In last year October , Kiptum hit the world headlines after winning the men’s world record by clocking 2:00:35.
Kiptum became the first man to run a marathon in under two hours and one minute, which put him a head with 34 seconds off fellow Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge in the past record.
Kelvin Kiptum’s world marathon mark was glorified by the international track federation World Athletics just last week.
The world marathoner was preparing to open his new season at the Rotterdam Marathon on April 14 this year before he could proceed to join the Kenyan team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
