As per to kuccps placement body, the students seeking to join tertiary institutions in 2024 must have attained a minimum grade to pursue the course of their choice.
Kuccps has categorized all the entry requirements as below:
1.For those joining Degree Programmes:the minimum entry grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE.
2. Those who are willing to join Diploma Programmes: the minimum mean grade of C – (minus) in KCSE
3. For the Craft Certificate Courses:one must have a minimum mean grade of D (plain)
4. Students joining Artisan Certificate courses: it requires one to have a mean grade of E
In the recently released exam , a total of 899, 453 students sat the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
Of the total above, there were 1,261 candidates scored a mean grade of A in the 2023 KCSE exams.
While speaking during the release of the results at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret on Monday, January 8, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu said eight hundred and twenty-five (825) of those were male candidates as there remaining 391 were female candidates.
In the same examination , 7,254 students scored A- as another 18,078 students got B+ .
A total of 36, 728 candidates got a B plain.
Equally, there were 59,514 students who posted B-, as another 78,343 others got C+,
Note also that another 92, 612 students have C plain as another 107,471 candidates scored C-
On the same note, there were 125, 006 candidates who managed a D+ as another 155, 276 scored a D plain.
Note also that there are another 165, 861 students who got a D minus and some 28, 174 students scored an E in 2023 KCSE examination.
During this examination release, machogu said that there were a total of 201,133 candidates who sat last year’s national exams and qualified for the 2024 University set points through kuccps placement.
The students above represents 22.3 percent of the total students examined.
On the same examination, there were 28, 214 male candidates scored an E, as 19,960 were female candidates.
