KMTC Scholarships For Nursing Students Declared

The government through the Kenya medical training college (KMTC )has announced scholarships for financially disadvantaged students aspiring to pursue a certificate course in Community Health Nursing.

On Friday ,an announcement was released indicating that the nursing scholarships were made available through a collaboration between the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Beyond Zero group.

The announcement  in the notice from KMTC indicated that the scholarship program will kick off in March 2024 for the academic year 2023-2024.

According to KMTC CEO , Kelly Oluoch, the eligible candidates who will be given priority are those from selected Arid and Semi-Arid counties,the  underserved minorities as well as other vulnerable groups .

The  scholarship will be provided at KMTC’s campuses in Kapenguria, Kabarnet, Bomet, Loitoktok, Garissa, Kilifi, Kitui, and Msambweni.l and it will cover 2 years.

The notice also indicate that successful scholars must also commit to serving their communities upon completion of the program.

For those making applications for KMTC Scholarships For Nursing Students , are expected to attach a handwritten essay of not more than 200 words explaining why they feel they deserve the scholarships.

They should also state clearly the contributions they will make to the community upon graduation.

All those who are interested in these scholarship should submit their applications before February 26.

According to CEO Oluoch, all the successful candidates will receive full scholarships that will cover the entire duration of the course.

In addition, the female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply

It is important to note that KMTC application guidelines for courses must be considered during application.

As a result, the applicants must have a KCSE Mean Grade of C- or equivalent, also C- in English or Kiswahili, have a C- in Biology as well as a D+ in either Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

Note also that KUCCPS recently opened its portal for students to apply for degree, diploma and certificate courses..

KUCCPS stated in a notice  released on Thursday that applications should be made through the student portal student.kuccps.net.

Students seeking admission to Universities, Tvet institutions, KMTC intake , the Teachers Training Colleges and the Open University of Kenya can apply.

The portal is open for candidates in the KCSE class of 2023 and Form 4 leavers from 2000 to 2022 years.
