The Teachers Service Commission TSC has started a recruitment drive to fill job positions left vacant due to the resignations and retirements of top directors.
On the same note, the commission has declared new positions as part of the recently adopted Career progression Guidelines (CPG) for the TSC Secretariat.
As a result, the teachers employer is seeking qualified individuals to take the vacant position roles in the Directorates of Teacher Discipline Management,the Staffing, under Human Resources and Development, the Internal Audit plus ICT plus a Deputy Director position for Teacher Management.
As a result Evelyn Mitei, who served under Acting capacity in the position of Director of Field Services since July 2022 following the retirement of Mary Rotich, will now take over an execution of the Annual Performance Contract, the work plans, budgeting, do Procurement plan, plus any other key responsibilities within the renamed directorate.
Other roles will include leading investigations into teachers’ professional conduct, doing supervision on the implementation of investigation reports as well as ensuring compliance with risk management and audit recommendations.
On the other hand, Antonina Lentoijoni, previously under acting capacity as the Director of Staffing since January 2023 following the resignation of Rita Wahome, is now a key figure in the recruitment process.
She previously played a key role in the Commission’s Deputy Director in charge of Staffing positions
Note that the TSC job positions declared also include that left by the resignations of top directors among them Isaac Nganga of Internal Audit plus Charles Gichira who served the Director heading the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) dockets.
In addition, Dr. Julius Olayo, who served as Director in charge of Human Resource Management and Developmental has also resigned to pursue a career with the Kenya Police Service.
TSC now looks forward to reply the vacant positions with capable leadership team within the TSC Secretariat, thus aligning with the evolving needs and structures introduced by the Career Progression Guidelines within the commission.
