Invitation for February 2024 CEMASTEA Training For JSS Teachers

Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa ( CEMASTEA ) has issued  an invitation for training for junior secondary school teachers JSS starting this month of February 2024.

This year’s training  will be done online as opposed to last year program which were done physically for junior secondary school intern teachers.

The training exercise  will run from 19th February to 4th March 2024.
February  training for February  targets Junior School STEM teachers that have have not attended any CEMASTEA training on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK).
The program  will cover those that were re-deployed from primary to Junior Secondary.

Among those who will attend include the primary school teachers that were deployed to teach in junior school last year.

As per to the program, an allowance of sh. 8,200 is to be paid to all teachers who will participate in the training exercise.

A circular that is sent to all CTCDC is to inform them of the upcoming online training.

In the invitation, the CEMASTEA indicated appreciation of the support and cooperation of the CTCDC  during the implementation of the CEMASTEA activities in your county.

It also indicated pans to conduct ICT training for Junior School (JS) STEM teachers that have not attended any CEMASTEA training on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). This includes those that were re-deployed from primary to Junior Secondary.

The training for is meant  to be conducted from 19th February to 4th March 2024 .

The exercise  will be conducted through CEMASTEA portal and on virtual platforms.

All the virtual sessions as per the circular  will run from 4.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m .
This training for CEMASTEA for JSS will take place from Monday 19th to  Friday 23rd February 2024.
Other sessions will run from Monday 26th February to Monday 4th March 2024.

Those teachers to be trained per county has been allocated as in Annex I.
