Learners at Riomego Primary Boarding School in Nyamira County are now counting losses following a mysterious fire which razed down one of the school dormitories .
This occured on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, it is the second time this week that a fire tragedy has been reported from the school following another two similar incidents taking place on Thursday.
The fire was contained by the county government firefighters who were able to arrive in time and contain the situation before more losses could be counted.
However, several students were unable to save their property as only a few could manage to save theirs.
During the incident, there were no injuries or casualties reported from all three fire incidents.
Investigations have been launched ti determine the and look fir the way forward to avoid such problems in future..
This incident was the second ti take place after another one had been reported in Thursday this week, where officers from the Kenya Red Cross reported a fire incident in the same school where a fire completely burnt down two dormitories which took place at noon and evening respectively.
“Our response team, have been sent to Riomego Primary Boarding School in Nyamira County which is facing a fire emergency and they are actively engaged in response efforts and collaboration to contain it,” Kenya Red Cross statement indicated.
Another fire incident was reported on Thursday, February 1, which burnt down a dormitory at St. John’s Girls Secondary School in Kaloleni in Kilifi County. This led to the school management sending students home.
Fortunately, the Police officers were able to arrive on time and helped to contain the fire with the aid of the firefighters and community members.
