TVET Recruitment advertisement for 2,000 trainers 2024

The long awaited recruitment advertisement for 2,000 new trainers to be posted to various Technical and Vocational Educational and Training institutions (TVET ) across the country is now set for this week.

Trusted sources have revealed that the recruitment advertisement will be out on Wednesday 31st January 2024 for interested and qualified candidates to apply.

During his speech in Meru On Saturday , President William Ruto revealed that the recruitment for the tutors will start this week.

The president acknowledged that some TVETs across the country are still grappling with the challenges of understaffing forcing the boards of management to pay for their salaries.

Ruto said that the government is ready to carry the burden on cost of education so that these boards can concentrate on ensuring that the students are well trained

Ruto further revealed that in this week , the government shall advertise for the recruitment of the tutors that will support education in  TVETs since students must have access to adequate learning material and personnel.

This  enable them to  acquire the competencies which are necessary for them to earn certificates and proceed to work in the ecosystems that we are building in the country.

During  Mashujaa Day celebration in October last year, Ruto revealed  plans for advertisement on recruitment for TVET trainers noting that it will help boost the education sector.

The president insisted on noted keeping government policy to equip Kenyan youth with practical skills and competencies.

As per to the Principal Secretary in the State Department for TVETs , madam Esther Muoria, the ministry is working to ensure each constituency gets its TVET institution.

Muoria indicated that so far there are only 52 constituencies out of 290 do not have it adding that construction of new ones was ongoing in some constituencies.

The principal  secretary spoke this when she appeared before the National Assembly Education Committee.

The secretary submitted a report on the progress of implementing the recommendations given by the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms.
