Nurses Salary ,Allowances and Job Categories in Kenya

Nurses are healthy  practitioners in Kenya who earn salary and allowances  based on job groups upon meeting specific qualifications and requirements to register in one of the groups at this level.

Their allowances are attractive and also vary  based on the job group.

Here is a display of the salary of a nurse in Kenya per month falling in the following  category

Specific Allowances for the nursing profession in Kenya

In addition to the salary for a diploma nurse in Kenya or a degree holder, these officers also receive allowances.

Their allowances also are paid  according to the job group and the are categorized into extraneous, the non-practising, health risk allowance , call and commuter allowance.

Note that in addition to the listed  allowances above, the nurses are entitled to a uniform allowance of Ksh.50,000 per year.

Nurses administrators also enjoy  an additional responsibility allowance of 10% of their basic monthly earnings.

Requirements to join Nursing 

Inorder to join Nursing course, one must be able to score a minimum entry grade for nurses is C+ in KCSE or its equivalent with a C+ in each cluster subject which include English, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or physics.

The field in nursing that is highest paid

Top paying field in nursing is anaesthetic nursing.

In Kenya Trained nurses in this field can earn a high salary because they are highly skilled and work closely with medical staff during procedures requiring anaesthesia.
