The admission criteria to joining form one at secondary for at least 25 learners without Kenya Certificate of Primary Education ( KCPE ) examinations results in Homa Bay county as announced by ministry of Education.
According to the ministry of Education, these learners will be admitted based on their previous performance while they were still in primary schools.
According to Homa Bay county Education Director, Ziada Osano, the learners will be joining in secondary schools without KCPE results but based on the records of marks posted by the learner in primary.
Based in the circular released by the ministry on placement of students who did not do kcpe exams,these students will be placed in secondary schools based on what they scored in primary.
The ministry circular further indicated that these learners will sit for a test when they will be in Form three to enable them register in form four kcse examinations.
In the list of the learners who missed the KCPE examination but yet to join secondary is a girl who went hiding during the examination period for last year.
The school from Homa Bay county enrolled 190 learners but but the girl was missing in the nonimal list.
The girl is said to have been attending school regularly until the examination period when she went Missing.
Domestic dispute is among the issues that have been raised that saw learners miss in the national examinations.
During the release of kcpe examination, the cabinet secretary, Ezekiel Machogu announced that over 9000 students had missed kcpe examinations planning fir another trust before they move to form one.
Few days later, the ministry announced that it is only 2000 students whose data was to be traced , something that lead to the examination council give a new directive.
The Kenya National Examination CEO David Njengere indicated that the council can not give exams as of now supporting the ministry plan to have examination later.
