Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced important clarification concerning changes on payments for application on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.
Based on a statement issued on Thursday, the placement body emphasized the importance of using only the official KUCCPS account number for submitting applications.
Kuccps cautioned against the use of mobile money codes for payment.
While making these changes, the placement service did not give the reason for this directive but only emphasized the necessity of using the provided account number for TVET application payments.
Part of the statement read that for TVET application payment, please use the account number provided for payment to submit your application.
The new deadline for submission, as per to kuccps is set for January 2024 inorder to facilitate the placement process into various schools.
The service further announced that a total of 494,317 students who scored a D+ and below in the 2023 KCSE exams are eligible to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions.
Others Clare also qualified to join artisan schools for pursuing a certificate or diploma of their choice.
The Cabinet Secretary under the ministry of education, Ezekiel Machogu has consistently asked students to prioritize acquiring practical skills through short courses offered by TVETs, emphasizing that such skills empower students for self-employment.
How to Apply for Courses
All the applicants seeking a second chance can apply via the student portal at students.kuccps.net.
While making kuccps application on TVET courses, it is important to submit all the necessary credentials,do proper selection of a preferred course from options provided by government institutions.
Also applicants are required to submit the courses in their own order of preference as well.
