It is a sigh of relief as Kisumu single mother who promised to put her kidney on sale in January 2020 in order to cover her girl secondary education expenses finally excelled in KCSE 2023.
According to Rhoda Abaja , it had become so had for her having exhausted all avenues for acquiring fees for Lencer Abaja,who is her firstborn child.
Lencer Abaja had been called to enroll in Moi Nyabohanse Girls High School, a school near Kenya Tanzanian border in county of Migori.
Fortunately, the girl s mother plans to have her kidney on sale were cut short after Andre Carter, a US woman offered to help her upon learning about her status via the media.
The donor decided to help the girl helping her mother from selling her kidney.
That was a journey that started exactly four years ago and now Lencer achieved a B minus on the 2023 KCSE exam.
The girl has finally managed to graduate from high school with honors.
According to Lencer and her mother, they were happy to see the Star when they got to their Bondo town home that is around 60 kilometers away from Kisumu.
Lencer is now ready to join the university in September this year.
The mother who is now a tailor says that carter’s support for her mother was overwhelming.
Abaja said that her kidney wasn’t sold.l adding tht the donor has also been doing shopping for them.
She also said that even the sewing machine was also bought to her which now help her produce garments that she is selling.
On the other hand ,Charles Omondi who lives about 20 miles from Bondo has also expressed her appreciation .
Omondi and Lencer enrolled in high school together.
According to Omondi’s father , he could not afford the school fees as well as the bus fare and as a result so he had to walk the 80 kilometers from his home in Ugenya to Nyabondo High School.
Amondi and the father showed up at the school in the evening without having to meet any entrance requirements to the same institution.
The school offered Omondi ‘s father a place to sleep at the school before making the long trip back to Siaya.
In what also a moment of joy when Omondi received a simple B in the KCSE exam of 2023.
He also expressed deep gratitude to Madam Carter for helping him when he was stranded four years ago
Madam cartel had also covered all his tuition fees.
